The University of South Wales International Scholarships

The University of South Wales was formed in 2013 by the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The institutions came together to create the University of South Wales, one of the largest universities in the UK.

International Scholarships
The University of South Wales offers the following scholarships for self-funding international students. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application. You do not need to make a separate application and confirmation of the scholarship will be included in your offer letter.

Undergraduate degree Courses – £1,500 per year
Postgraduate degree courses – £2,000
Master of Business Administration (MBA) – £1,500
Chancellors International Development Scholarships

You will receive confirmation of any scholarship award with your offer letter. Applicants must pay the minimum deposit stipulated in the offer letter by the date stated on the Acceptance Form in order to secure their scholarship

The scholarships do not apply to IFP, English language courses or placement years. Students sponsored by their government or by a company are not eligible for the scholarships.

Chancellors International Development Scholarships
Undergraduate International Development Scholarships of £2,500 are available for students from the following countries:

Bangladesh
Brazil
India
Kenya
Mexico
Myanmar
Nepal
Nigeria
Sri Lanka
Tanzania
Thailand
Turkey
Uganda
Vietnam
Zambia
Zimbabwe
This scholarship would replace the standard £1,500 undergraduate scholarship and is available only for those students studying a full undergraduate degree. Higher National Diploma students and Foundation Degree students are not eligible for the Chancellor’s International Development Scholarship.

You will be automatically considered for a scholarship when you make your application. You do not need to make a separate scholarship application. You will receive confirmation of a scholarship with your offer letter.

Scholarships and discounts do not apply to sponsored students or those studying a placement year, the IFP, or English Language Programs.

Scholarships may be withdrawn if conditions of the scholarships are not adhered to.

Fee discount for international students at USW progressing to Masters level study
The University of South Wales offers the following scholarships for self-funding USW international graduates. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards if you have graduated from a USW Bachelor award when we receive your application. You do not need to make a separate application and confirmation of the scholarship will be included in your offer letter.

MBA – £4,000
MA/MSc (non-STEM) awards – £4,200
MA/MSc (STEM) awards – £3,700

Applicants must pay the minimum deposit stipulated in the offer letter by the date stated on the Acceptance Form in order to secure their scholarship

Applicants sponsored by their government or by a company are not eligible for the scholarships. Applicants must progress onto the next available intake of the Masters award after graduation from the Bachelor award. The Early Bird Discount is not available to applicants in receipt of the Fee Discount. Applicants on the top-up to Masters ‘Package Fee Scholarship’ are not entitled to the additional Fee Discount. This scholarship would replace the standard International scholarship.

Scholarships may be withdrawn if conditions of the scholarships are not adhered to.

International scholarships for BSc (Hons) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Top-Up
Please note that the standard international scholarship for the 180 credit BSc (Hons) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Top-Up is £2,250. Students eligible for the Chancellor’s Development Scholarship may be considered for a scholarship of £3,750 for this particular undergraduate program.
